Mainz for Beginners: The golden city of Mainz and its many attractions
A tour of Mainz’s history, from its beginnings to the present day: Roman Mainz, the cathedral, the old quarter and the modern city centre. As an optional extra, you can book a tour of the Gutenberg Museum, which includes a demonstration of the printing press.
Duration: up to 2 hours | Price: € 105.00 in a foreign language, € 30.00 for each additional hour € 115.00 bilingual plus admission to the Gutenberg Museum (max. group size: 30 people per tour guide).
On the trail of Gutenberg
Discover the Gutenberg Museum, home to the most famous Bible in the world, and watch as a page of the Bible is printed in the museum workshop. On a guided tour of the city, you’ll see sites associated with Johannes Gutenberg – the place where he was born, the church where he was baptised, the house where he lived in his later years and his final resting place, as well as former printing houses and various monuments.

Chagall windows at St. Stephen’s Church and the old quarter
Marvel at the only religious work of art by Marc Chagall in Germany – the final masterpiece by the famous Jewish artist. Afterwards take part in a guided walking tour through the old quarter of Mainz.
Duration: 2 hours | Price: € 105.00 in a foreign language plus € 2,- donation per person for the upkeep of the church (max. group size 30 people per guide).

Wine experience at Hofgut Laubenheimer Höhe
The Hofgut Laubenheimer Höhe wine estate is set amid picturesque vineyards, high above the rooftops of Mainz and Rheinhessen. Take in the stunning views as you enjoy a wine tasting and discover the delights of the new vineyard restaurant (not included in tour).

Visit the champagne cellar of Kupferberg
Services: Guided tour through the Kupferberg-Museum and the underground vault.

Excursion to the Rheingau Region
The Rheingau region extends from Wiesbaden to Rüdesheim to the east of the Rhine. Your first stop will be Kloster Eberbach, a former Cistertian monastery. It was here that the indoor scenes for the film „The Name of the Rose“ were made. Rüdesheim is just a short ride away. A guided city tour as well as a ride in the cable car to the Niederwald monument are on the programme as well. A stroll through the famous Drosselgasse lane will round out your excursion.
